Southeastern Freight Lines to Deliver Successful Case History of Sleep Management Solutions Provided by FusionHealth
FusionHealth, the leading provider of innovative cloud-based solutions that change the way businesses think about health management, today announced that it will be presenting at the Institute for Health and Productivity Management (IHPM) International Conference in Orlando, Florida on March 26, 2013. In addition, Mr. John Pryor, Vice President of HR and Safety at Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc., a FusionHealth client and leading-edge employer regarding proactive management of sleep disorders, was invited to speak to the global attendees at the 2013 International IHPM conference about the benefits of sleep health solutions.
Southeastern Freight Lines announced the initial results and promising trends of a comprehensive analysis conducted last December by FusionHealth. The ongoing study was designed to assess the impact on health-related costs and job performance associated with effective Obstructive Sleep Apnea treatment. The study, among a cohort of commercial motor vehicle drivers, showed that within the first nine months of treatment among the sleep health program participants, medical and pharmacy cost trends decreased 6% compared to a 12-month baseline. During the same time period, the individually matched control group’s medical and pharmacy costs increased 16%.
“FusionHealth has enabled us to address the critical issue of sleep apnea and its powerful affect among our commercial drivers without a significant productivity loss to our business,” stated. Mr. Pryor. “FusionHealth’s medical acumen and business innovation made this test, and our on-going solution successful for Southeastern Freight Lines. But what surprised me most was the positive feedback that we received from our associates and their families in such a short period of time,” he shared. “The FusionHealth solution has changed people’s lives. Our associates feel better and have more energy. That just makes good business sense.”
