FusionHealth’s Dr. Durmer Talks about Technology and Drowsy Driving

Sleep Review’s Sree Roy says that current technology to prevent drowsy driving should focus on predicting the issue rather than compensating for it.  FusionHealth’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jeffrey Durmer, MD, PhD comments that technology such as backup cameras and radar detection systems are helpful in prevention, but only to an extent. He explains that technology which detects individuals at risk for drowsy driving will be more effective. Some of these risk factors for drowsy driving include untreated sleep disorders and quantity of sleep before getting behind the wheel.
